Bob Dylan: singer, song writer, plagiarizer?
Bob Dylan has a new art exhibit featuring his paintings called “The Asia Series,” which opened recently at the Gagosian Gallery in NYC. The paintings are supposed to be based on his experiences and travels in Japan, China, Vietnam, and Korea.
Astute eyes, however, have noticed that his “visual memories” look an awful lot like old photographs by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Dmitri Kessel and others. This wouldn’t be a problem, except that Dylan never credited them for their work, making his obvious reproductions of the photographs potential plagiarism.
He should probably just stick to writing songs.
